How To Remove Alliance One From Your Credit Report

Alliance One International is known as one of the largest and most aggressive debt collection agencies.

Credit card companies, utility companies, student loan companies, government agencies, and medical financial services contract with AOI as a third party collections agency to collect any delinquent accounts, even parking tickets.

However, in some cases, you may have been falsely identified and are receiving badgering calls.

If you’ve recently had to deal with them, you may be wondering if it’s possible to remove Alliance One from your credit report.

Luckily, there are ways to deal with Alliance One collections and get them out of your life for good.

Steps To Remove Alliance One Collections From Your Credit

Here’s how to get Alliance One removed from your credit report:

  • Stop the Calls
  • Write A Debt Validation Letter
  • Challenge Inaccurate Information With A Credit Dispute Letter
  • Negotiate A Pay for Delete Agreement
  • Have A Professional Remove the Alliance One Collection

Stop The Calls & Request ONLY Written Communications

When Alliance one or AOI calls, it’s best to just ignore the call or hang up. I recommend that you have everything in writing rather than agreeing to anything over the phone.

Also be sure you never give over critical information for verification purposes like your social security number or birth date BEFORE you are a customer with the company, as it could be a scam.

Information like your phone number or address is safer than highly personal information. Alliance One is a legitimate company, rated an A+ by the Better Business Bureau or BBB, and is not a scam.

Therefore, the first step is to stop taking their phone calls. If the calls and harassments become overwhelming, you have every right to send their call centers a cease and desist letter.

In the event that you’re receiving threatening calls and letters, it’s important to know your rights. When it comes to collection agencies, your rights are outlined in the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

There is a long list of practices that collection agencies often employ that put them in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, but since most people don’t know their rights, there is rarely anything done about it. You can use this as a tool when removing Alliance One from your credit report.

Most commonly, collection agencies violate this act by threatening and harassing behavior. By simply mentioning to a debt collector that they are potentially in violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act will many times get them to stop calling you.

Alliance One Contact Information

Again, I recommend against making any deals over the phone with collection agencies. Therefore, you want to send your letters to this address:

AllianceOne Receivables Management, Inc.

Attn: Compliance Department

3000 Ames Crossing Road

Suite 750

Eagan, MN 55121 It’s also important to note, there are a few other addresses given:

  • AllianceOne Receivables Management, Inc. 4850 E. Street Road Suite 300 Trevose, PA 19053
  • 6160 Mission Gorge Road, Suite 300, San Diego, CA 92120

Write a Debt Validation Letter

A debt validation letter is a letter that you send to a collection agency demanding that they validate that the debt is yours.

In this letter, you want to make sure and ask them specifically for documentation that proves the debt is indeed yours.

Also, when writing this letter make sure and state that if they are unable to validate the debt, they must promptly stop attempting to collect and remove the collection from your credit report.

You need to act fast because you only have 30 days from when they first contact you to get the letter to them.

We highly recommend you send the letter via certified mail, giving you documentation proving the company received your letter. Try to stay away from any phone conversations.

If all goes well, they’ll be unable to validate the debt, and not only will they stop calling you, but it will also be removed from the credit reporting agencies on your credit report.

Of course, this is the best-case scenario. If they are able to validate the debt, continue to the next step.

Challenge Inaccurate Information

When you’re unable to get the collection removed through the debt validation method, the next step is to use an advanced method of challenging inaccurate information.

For this technique, you’re going to need a current copy of your credit report. With your credit report in hand, find the Alliance One entry.

Look over the required fields and find anything that’s inaccurate. Even if it seems insignificant, such as a misspelling, you can still use this to dispute the entry.

Here are a few examples of line items that you can dispute:

  • Account status
  • Payment status
  • Balances (High and Current)
  • Name Spellings
  • Addresses
  • Account numbers
  • Dates
  • Credit Limit

If you find any inaccuracies, write a letter to each of the 3 credit bureaus (Transunion, Experian, Equifax) that states the entry is inaccurate.

You can use my dispute letter template as an example.

In the event that you’re unable to find anything inaccurate in the entry, you have a couple more options for removing the Alliance One entry from your credit report.

Pay to Remove Alliance One From Your Credit Report

When all else fails, you can simply negotiate with them to remove the negative entry.

In order to do this, you’ll have to write Alliance One a letter that says you’ll pay the debt in full if they agree to remove it from your credit report.

Don’t attempt to negotiate a lower price or payment plan because it probably won’t work.

Alliance One doesn’t purchase debts, but rather is hired by the original creditor to collect the debt.

If you’re able to pay the debt in full in exchange for removal, this is your best bet to get it taken care of.

Anytime you can pay the debt, they’re more willing to negotiate.
